Katie I am honored and grateful to have received a grant from the Action Mobility Foundation. Hi, my name is Katie. I was recently paralyzed a year and a half ago from a horseback riding accident. I am a military wife, use to my husbands’ deployments, and a mother of 3 great kids. We also live on a farm and take care of many animals. Once I had my injury and started to recover, I had many frustrations of being unable to get around the land and enjoy things that I once use to do. I couldn’t go groom the horses, or even go check my mail at the end of our driveway.

I first saw the Action Trackstander at a mobility expo in Boston. I thought it was the coolest thing. I decided I would do whatever I could to own one. I applied for the grant through Action Mobility Foundation and also one through a few others. While I didn’t hear from anyone else, I was ecstatic to receive an email granting an amount from the Action Mobility Foundation. I quickly notified my husband and the distributor in my area to get started for my new chair.

It took a few weeks, but after getting my chair home, I have been in it almost every day. I go down to the pond and watch the ducks swim; I can groom my horses and love on them; and I can stand in my chair to play football with my boys. I can’t wait for blueberry season, so I can pick berries off the highest branches.

This chair has provided me with much freedom. I’ve also gone on trails with my husband as he rides our horses so that we can spend time together. It also allowed me to go fishing and get close enough to the water to cast a line. It’s the perfect device for anyone.

I want to thank the creators, and the others who have made the Action Trackchair and Action Trackstander possible. It truly is a blessing!
